چکیده
We report results obtained from the study of 12 thermonuclear X-ray bursts in 6 AstroSat observations a neutron star binary and well-known burster, 4U 1636$-$536. Burst oscillations at $\sim$581 Hz are observed with 4$-$5$\sigma$ confidence three these bursts. The rising phase burst show decreasing trend fractional rms amplitude 3$\sigma$ confidence,by far strongest evidence flame spreading AstroSat. During initial 0.25 second rise very high value (34.0$\pm$6.7%) is observed. concave shape profile provides strong latitude-dependent speeds, possibly due to effects Coriolis force. observe decay amplitudes comparable that during phase, plausibly combined effect both surface modes as well cooling wake. Doppler shifts rapid rotation might cause hard pulses precede soft pulses, resulting lag. distance source estimated using PRE consistent known $\sim$6 kpc.

A Characterization of the Brightness Oscillations during Thermonuclear Bursts from 4u 1636[536
The discovery of nearly coherent brightness oscillations during thermonuclear X-ray bursts from six neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries has opened up a new way to study the propagation of thermonuclear burning and may ultimately lead to greater understanding of thermonuclear propagation in other astrophysical contexts, such as in Type Ia supernovae. Here, we report detailed analyses of the D58...
متن کاملEddington-limited X-ray Bursts as Distance Indicators. Ii. Possible Compositional Effects in Bursts from 4u 1636−536
We analyzed 123 thermonuclear (type-I) X-ray bursts observed by the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer from the low-mass X-ray binary 4U 1636−536. All but two of the 40 radius-exansion bursts in this sample reached peak fluxes which were normally distributed about a mean of 6.4×10 ergs cm s, with a standard deviation of 7.6%. The remaining two radius-expansion bursts reached peak fluxes a factor of 1....
متن کاملRelativistic Iron Line Emission from the Neutron Star Low-mass X-ray Binary 4u 1636-536
We present an analysis of XMM-Newton and RXTE data from three observations of the neutron star LMXB 4U 1636-536. The X-ray spectra show clear evidence of a broad, asymmetric iron emission line extending over the energy range 4–9 keV. The line profile is consistent with relativistically broadened Fe K-α emission from the inner accretion disk. The Fe K-α line in 4U 1636-536 is considerably broade...
متن کاملBroad Band X-ray Spectra of Atoll Source 4U 1636-536: NuSTAR and Swift Results
In this work we investigate broad band (1-79 keV) spectral nature of the atoll source 4U 1636-536 using the combined Nu-STAR and SWIFT-XRT data. The spectra are complex and have emission components from the disc, boundary-layer and corona. In addition to that a broad iron line is also observed. A relativistic line model assuming Schwarzchild metric fits this feature. The total flux varies from ...
متن کاملEvidence for Antipodal Hot Spots During X - ray Bursts From 4 U 1636 - 536
The discovery of high-frequency brightness oscillations in thermonuclear X-ray bursts from several neutron-star low-mass X-ray binaries has important implications for the beat frequency model of kilohertz quasi-periodic brightness oscillations, the propagation of nuclear burning, the structure of the subsurface magnetic fields in neutron stars, and the equation of state of high-density matter. ...
